22 Dec Children show appreciation for support through show
A PRIMARY school in Newcastle warmed the hearts of charity workers after inviting them to a Christmas carol service.
Hadrian School, in Bertram Crescent, Benwell, welcomed representatives of The Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund to the event, which saw all children perform.
Youngsters at the school have been supported in the past by the organisation, which provides specialist equipment for children with disabilities and their families.
Julieanne Kelly, fund office manager, said: “Many thanks to Hadrian School for the very kind invite. It was fantastic and so much hard work had been put into the production, both from the children and the teachers.
“It was such a lovely atmosphere and all the children were brilliant - they even had a real baby playing Jesus!
“We have been lucky to be able to support Hadrian School with equipment over the last few years, so it’s great to meet the children who have benefited.
“We would like to wish all the children, teachers, support workers and health professionals a very happy Christmas and we will see them in the new year.”
The Fund aims to raise £40,000 during December. If you would like to make a donation, call 0191 201 6090.
