Volunteering at The Sunshine Fund

Volunteers2014

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons, for some it offers the chance to give something back to the community and make a difference to the children that we are supporting, for others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.

Voluntary work can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or much more occasional, we have a broad range of opportunities on offer from helping in our office with admin duties to attending one of our organised events to help with things such as registrations at our Sunshine Run or helping to meet and greet people at our Annual Ball.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone aged 16 and over are welcome to volunteer at The Sunshine Fund.

What volunteers can offer

As a volunteer you can share your skills, knowledge and time, If you don’t have the skills needed, where possible we will help you develop them.

Often enthusiasm, the ability to smile and encourage are the most important skills required.

What we can offer volunteers

Volunteering with The Sunshine Fund will mean you are making a difference to children with disabilities in the North East area. You could also benefit from helping or supporting other people, using existing skills or learning new ones, gaining confidence, being creative, responding to challenges, making new friends and getting involved. If you’re looking for work, you will gain valuable experience for your CV.

Above all else we want our volunteers to enjoy their experience.
