Our Trustees

Our Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall control and strategic direction of the Charity. They meet regularly during the year to consider, determine and review the Sunshine Fund’s strategies and policies in discussion with the executive management of the Charity.

All Trustees work for the Sunshine Fund in a voluntary capacity.

The Sunshine Fund is a Company Limited by Guarantee and does not have any Share Capital. Its company number is 07035903 and it is registered with the Charities Commission as number 1133293.

The current members of the Board of Trustees are:-

Sunshine Fund Trustee Martin Soloman.

Martin Soloman

Senior Partner of Hay & Kilner Solicitors

Martin Soloman is a Solicitor and Senior Partner at leading North East law firm, Hay & Kilner. His specialist work and experience includes wide ranging involvement in commercial matters. He is named as a “Leading individual” in the Commercial Disputes field in Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, both independently researched guides to the legal profession.

Martin’s involvement with The Chronicle Sunshine Fund spans more than two decades, and he has held the role of Chair since 2002.  He was instrumentally involved in the “relaunch” of the Sunshine Fund in 1994 with its revised objectives of assisting disabled children in the North East of England.   He is very proud of the association with the Chronicle and the substantial number of disabled children (and their families) who have been assisted so fundamentally by the Charity.
