FUNDRAISERS are being urged to brighten up their ideas and turn yellow for a day.
The Chronicle Sunshine Fund, which provides specialist equipment to disabled children across the region, has launched its first Yellow Day
As part of June’s Go Bananas money-making drive, the charity is inviting supporters to wear at least one item of yellow on Friday, June 12, and give £2.
Patsie Beaton is general manager of intu Metro Centre, which along with intu Eldon Square is sponsoring Go Bananas.
She said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring this years Go Bananas campaign from June 1-30 in an effort to help raise money for children with disabilities in the North East.
“The staff thoroughly enjoyed the photo shoot for the Yellow Day and we will all be wearing yellow on June 12 as part of the campaign.”
Helen Atkinson, intu’s marketing manager, added: “It was great to get the staff involved in the yellow photo shoot, and we had lots of fun putting together our outfits.
“Yellow is a great colour for this summer’s season and a must in our wardrobes, so everyone should have no problem wearing yellow this June.”
Caroll Pattinson, Sunshine Fund director, said: “A huge thank you to intu Metro Centre for taking part in our photo shoot. It was great to see the different outfits they came up with, from yellow scarfs to tops and sunglasses.
