In July 2013, we held our patrons event at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton Hotel.
The ceremony was a huge success, raising over £12,000 for the Sunshine Fund, which will buy specialist equipment for children with disabilities in the North East.
It was brilliantly hosted by Steve Walls, who interviewed our patrons, Paralympian Stephen Miller, Tyne Tees News Anchor Pam Royle and TV Presenter’s Ant and Dec.
There was also a moving story from Catherine Senior, who spoke about her sister Jennifer and a beautiful performance from the Hadrian School Choir.
Sunshine Fund Director Caroll Pattison said: “Our Trustees give so much of their precious time to make sure we can continue to support as many children and families as possible.
“Thank you to all four of them and everyone who attended for making it a magical fun evening.
“There was such a buzz throughout the night, although you could hear a pin drop when the children from Hadrian Special School sang - there wasn’t a dry eye in the Hotel.”
