10 Jun Wear Yellow Day nears in charity push
SCHOOLS, workplaces and community groups are being urged to wear yellow this Friday for a good cause.
The unique Wear Yellow Day aims to help The Chronicle Sunshine Fund reach its £50,000 Go Bananas fundraising target for June.
All supporters are asked to pay £2 to wear something yellow, and the money will go toward changing the lives of disabled North East children.
Clare Savory, the charity’s events manager, said: “We would like the whole of the North East to join us on Friday in wearing yellow and supporting our Go Bananas campaign.
“We are asking companies and community groups to wear their best yellow outfit and donate to Go Bananas, which this year supports 10 children and one organisation.”
Helen Atkinson, marketing manager for Go Bananas sponsor intu Metrocentre, added: “We hope to get as many people wearing yellow this Friday as possible.
“Yellow is a great colour this season so it’s really easy to pick up a yellow item, from a yellow tie to a yellow dress.”
