Julieanne’s Column Friday 13th May

18 May Julieanne’s Column Friday 13th May

Hi, Julieanne here,

I hope you all are having a great week and enjoying the weather. How nice has it been this week!

Well, we are all super-busy in the office, planning our Go Bananas Appeal which takes place in June.

We are looking for people to get on board and do a little fundraising for us and this can be anything from a cake sale to an afternoon tea.

So, please do get in touch if you would like to make a difference to the lives of children with disabilities in the North East.

A couple of weeks ago we met the 10 families who are all part of our appeal.

Their children need specialised equipment to help them on a daily basis and we met those requiring wheelchairs and walkers and those who would benefit hugely from an iPad to help with their speech and communication difficulties.

If you would like to become part of something special, and help us to raise money to help the youngsters, then email me at julieanne.kelly@ncjmedia.co.uk

Also, next month is our annual Sunshine Run on the Quayside.

We have quite a few teams already signed up to take part but it’s not too late to register – and it’s only £17.

The run takes place on Wednesday, June 22 from 6pm and it’s always a fun evening so please email rebecca.jama@ncjmedia.co.uk if you would like to join a great event.

Well, this week the Sunshine team are off to Aveika on Newcastle Quayside.

The restaurant-bar is hosting a fundraiser for us on Wednesday and we cannot wait to taste the food there so a big thank-you to all the staff – we really appreciate the support.

And tonight Clare, from the team, will be attending the IMechE’a (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) North East Regional Annual Charity Dinner – so, again, thank-you to all.

As always, we very much welcome any donations and there are a number of ways that you can support our charity: send a cheque made payable to The Chronicle Sunshine Fund and post it to The Chronicle Sunshine Fund, Groat Market, Newcastle, NE1 1ED.

Or why not pop in to reception if you’re in town.

You can even call me on 0191 201 6090 to make a donation with a credit or debit card.

Check us out at www.sunshine-fund.org or on Facebook: Evening Chronicle Sunshine Fund or Twitter at @Sunshine_Fund.

Julieanne x
