07 Jun Going golfing bananas suits communications company to tee
OUR Go Bananas appeal is gathering pace and supporters have been coming up with all sorts of ideas to raise much-needed cash.
The Sunshine Fund’s annual month-long campaign has set itself a £60,000 target this year to cover the cost of the all the specialist equipment which The Chronicle’s charity wants to buy for 10 disabled children in the North East.
The latest show of support comes in the form of a whopping £4,000-plus donation courtesy of Sunderland company Cellular Solutions.
The business communications firm is a loyal supporter of the Sunshine Fund and chose to hold its annual golf event at Close House in Newcastle last week in aid of it.
And staff clubbed together in their efforts last Thursday and raised £2,000 – then received match-funding from Barclays Bank.
The company’s managing director Mike Bowers said of the result: “We are again delighted that through our annual corporate golf day we can continue to support The Chronicle Sunshine Fund.
“We’d like to thank all of the players who took part in this event.”
