The Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside held it’s annual MORE ON SHOW event yesterday (Thursday 18th July) in aid of the Chronicles’ Sunshine Fund raising over £600 for the charity. Venues from Cobalt’s more staff discount card which gives staff access to hundreds of offers from across the region were invited to attend to promote their shops, entertainment venues and restaurants.

Cobalt’s 12,000 strong workforce were invited to descend upon the event venue at the Cobalt Central retail hub to find out where they can cash in on exclusive offers – which can save them hundreds of pounds in leisure and shopping throughout the region.

Employees were treated to a price draw, games, competitions, free food and drinks samples, beauty treatments, and challenges from the Cobalt MORE card venues. All those who attended the event were offered the opportunity of entering the charity draw to with the chance of winning prizes including a two night cruise to Amsterdam, over nights stays, event tickets, beauty treatments and much more.

Well-known brands and venues – including Odeon cinema at Silverlink, Durham Cricket Club, Scallini’s and Malmaison – were on hand offering freebies and big discounts to staff. The real star of the show was (the lady stilt walking) from Go Ape at Matfen Hall, who told staff about the great discounts available at the Northumberland hotel.

All tastes were accounted for with Hotel Du Vin on hand to tempt staff with a sumptuous samples, as well as Newcastle Speedway showing off motorbikes, Nucas Bootcamp putting people fitness to the test and promoting their exclusive weeks free trial discount for Cobalt employees.

Kirstie Nilsson, General Ledger Accountant from Procter & Gamble based at Cobalt said: “It was great to see lots of different organisations showing what is on offer, the staff were very helpful. The discounts staff working at Cobalt get are amazing. Going to the event reminded me of the benefits that are available to us and what a fun community there is at Cobalt.”
