June can only mean one thing – Go Bananas.
Yes it’s that time again when we ask you to help us buy some special equipment for 10 local children to make their lives and their families lives easier.
Thanks to Ant & Dec who launched the appeal with a personal message which is on chroniclelive. They really care about the North East and want everyone to get behind the campaign and raise the £50,000 we need to help all 10 children plus the sports wheelchairs for Percy Hedley school.
If all our Chronicle readers donate £3 this would be a huge help. Text GBSF55£3 to 70070 or you can call into the Chronicle offices or send a cheque to The Sunshine Fund, GoBananas Appeal, Thompson House, Groat Market, Newcastle NE1 1ED.
Also thank you to intu Eldon Square and Metrocentre for sponsoring the campaign this year.
The Busy Bees Nursery on Cobalt Business Park started the GoBananas fundraising on Saturday with their annual Toddle. It was brilliant, we had a lovely sunny day and all the children loved looking for clues along the route.
We ended up in the nursery eating Bananas and Monkey cakes, whilst the children got their faces painted and coloured in monkey masks. We have events booked throughout June if you want to join in check out our website or give us a call.
We also would love to see pictures of you going Bananas so send them to us too.
