Hello, I can’t believe the football season has started already, here we go again weekends taken over with talk and TV on how good the teams are playing, or not more often.

Good luck to all our local clubs I hope you all do well this season.

Our fundraising needs to continue so we can help as many local children as possible.

Julieanne and I had a super meeting last week at the new Hampton by Hilton opposite the Central Station.

It’s a really lovely hotel on the inside with a nice trendy bar area overlooking the station, a gym and small restaurant. We are their chosen charity and looking forward to holding a few small events with them raising money to support one of our children.

I’ve been forward planning as its going to be a very busy October, I spent the weekend doing Petra training. It was lovely walking over 2 hours along the fish quay into Whitley Bay and back.

I am currently trying to personally raise £924 for a Trike to help a nine-year-old boy from Newcastle.

Adam has Autism and Development delay, his mum hopes the trike will help him get outdoors more with his friends and family.

As I was re-reading the trek itinerary the other day I realised this is going to be very different from the China Trek last year. Not only will it be challenging from the walking through the desert in extreme heat but also we will be sleeping in tents with no running water.

I can’t believe I’m paying over £1,000 for this but I’m sure it will be amazing and if I can get Adam his trike it will make it all worth while.

If you would like to sponsor me for this challenge and help get Adam his trike please get in touch or send to the Chronicle office.

I also had the challenging job this week of looking for my dress for the Sunflower Ball on October 2.

The theme this year is a night on Broadway so I want something really glam. I haven’t come up with anything suitable yet, watch this space, possibly when the sales have finished.
