Hi, so here we are in October, I can’t believe how warm it is, I hope you are still managing to make the most of the pleasant weather.
What can I say about our Down Toon Abbey Ball, it was a totally amazing night.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped from the Marriott staff, our sponsors, ITPS, Intu Eldon Square and Metro Centre, the Marriott Hotel, all our suppliers to our volunteers who helped us set up the room and fundraise on the evening and of course our glamorous guests. You were all fabulous and we couldn’t do it without you.
A special thank you to Helen and the staff from Katherines florist who worked tirelessly at the hotel all day making the flower arrangements which they so kindly donated. The roses were absolutely stunning, many thanks ladies.
Our guests were entertained throughout the evening with singers and dancers and they showed their appreciation by raising a staggering £25,000. This money will be used to buy specialist equipment next month – motorised wheelchairs computers and trikes for lots of local children with disabilities who need our help to make their lives easier.
Following the success of our China Trek this year we are launching our 2015 Challenge which is a Trek in Petra leaving October 7 2015. We have an information evening next Wednesday, October 8 at 6pm in Fat Buddha in Newcastle.
