Hi folks, wow, wow and wow I can’t believe we’ve done it, what an amazing experience China was.

All six of us Team Sunshine laughed, cried, sang and danced, in 40 degree heat it was an incredible 10 days. Despite my pneumonia earlier in the year and Joanne having a broken toe we overcame everything to walk the Great Wall of China.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us in fundraising and training.

I personally will never forget it and neither will the children and families who will receive equipment because of our trip.

So far we have raised over £10,000 which is incredible although there were days when we were mountain rock climbing on uneven ground where people were slipping and falling when we all said we deserved every penny! It was the hardest thing I have ever done both physically and mentally and my body and feet complained many times but with the help of the team I never once felt like giving up I was determined to prove I could do it and I’m delighted to now have the T-shirt and certificate that says I climbed the Great Wall of China.

More importantly Samuel now has his trike which will let him move around the house on his own and Lewis has his ipad to help him communicate at school and to his parents through my fundraising. There will be lots more children benefiting from the rest of the team’s fundraising which makes all our hard work worthwhile.

All the trekkers were shattered and also elated they are such a great bunch, we are all looking forward to sharing our pictures with our family and friends and here are a couple for you to get a feel for it.

I would like to say a special thank you to my roomy Wendy Peffers from Gordon Brown Law Firm. We shared not only a room but midnight snacks, overcome our fears of bugs, blisters holes in the ground instead of toilets and rock hard beds but still managed to have a laugh.

Our next trek is to Petra next October and sounds just as amazing, if you would like an awesome challenging experience I can certainly recommend it.

Our Glass Slipper Nominations are launching today with an event at The Hilton. Thank you so much to the Hilton for sponsoring the launch, also to Gordon Brown for sponsoring the Awards. The nominations are open
