GENEROUS Sunshine Ladies dug deep at a Go Bananas afternoon tea event in a top North East hotel.
The group of businesswomen, who support The Chronicle Sunshine Fund through activities and events all year, threw their weight behind the charity’s June fundraising drive.
Yesterday’s monthly networking event at Newcastle Gateshead Hilton was given a Go Bananas theme, as more than 30 attendees made donations.
If the Sunshine Fund reaches its £50,000 target for the month, it will be able to provide specialist equipment to 10 disabled North East children and the Percy Hedley Sports Academy, ranging from electric wheelchairs to made-to-measure seating systems and trikes.
Julieanne Kelly, of the charity, said: “Thank you so much to the ladies who attended the afternoon tea. It was a lovely afternoon and I hope everyone enjoyed it! It’s so nice to see such busy women take time out of their days to support our Go Bananas appeal.
“A huge thank you also to the staff at the Hilton - the afternoon tea was delicious. We have just over a week left of our Go Bananas appeal but it is not too late for you to get involved.
“It can be something small like a raffle or a coffee morning. If you would like to get involved and help us raise much needed funds for children with disabilities in the area, please get in touch.”
